I did the exact same thing… with the same Garmin model (nuvi 760). The 760 is the uppermost model tht can be placed in this housing with doing additional electrical modifications… so no… not ALL Garmin 700 series go in quite so easily.
That said, its a great mod.
hey, got an 08 Xterra Off Road. Got all the goodies except for the GPS. I really like your video, wish you made a video about how to put it in. I am scared to rip off the dash of my truck, i would hate to mess it up. Also, does the GPS voice run through the GPS or the speakers in the car.
The install is a piece of cake….there are literally only 5 screws to remove in order to gain access to the back of the radio. If it makes you nervous, Nissan dealers will do the work for about $125 in labor. Also, audio comes from the unit, but can be directed to your stereo speakers by FM signal with the 760.
does anyone know a link for the removal of the deck . i just wanna see how its done, and can i hook up a amp and sub to the stock deck?

This docking station works with both the 6 disk changer and the standard cd player. Instructions are included for both.

I got a in-dash gps for my nissan xterra and im having problems installing it. Can you tell me where to find the speed sensor on the car so I can connect it with the gps? the sensor is not off and the gps is not following where my car goes. thanks.

Thanks for the clip. Can anyone confirm what the highest Garmin model # to fit this mount (760, 760+)? I have the dealer issued 750 and wanted to upgrade but wanted it to be compatable with the same mount/harness pictured in this video without modifying the cable, etc.

Dumb question but….I’m looking at the docking station and directions doing s little pre-game and step 14 says “disconnect harness from housing assembly”. To do that I have to remove the foam padding that is glued on right? It looms semi permanent so I don’t want to damage it if I don’t have to.
