Gadget Lab 6: Lenovo IdeaPad U110

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is the official ultralight notebook of the 2008 Olympics, and sports a glassy LCD screen, a grippable aluminum alloy lid, and a finely tuned specs under the hood. But is the price way too expensive?

    Cool texture.

  • HAJS5:

    I don’t think it’s worth it.

No DVD player? what’s up with that?

  • Zabrix:

    Looks really REALLY tiny!

This computer looks like it could be a very useful asset in my life. Shame the quality of the keyboard is so bad, and it should have a bigger RAM. I’d probably wait for better ones to come out…after all, all the computer companies are in the competition for the lightest and most efficient computer.

By the way, I really like the intro to the Wired Gadget Lab. Nice music.

  • YEE941:

u can get it with with 3 gigs of ram

  • mchamp3802:

yup great review, but I am stunned to how far the laptops have come since 1 yr ago! I have a sony TZ running vista with 1 gb and realize that I seriously need 2GB NOW lol

the time to upgrade to 2gb is nigh!

oh and for all who want high quality youtube vids add &fmt=18 to the end or the url will help the quality

    lastly….MICHAEL PHELPS ROCKS!!!

even a 5/10 is a lenient score for this computer, I think they are boosting the score way to much cause of design, which is not that great tbh

  • magoulaonline:

    nice video

i don’t think its worth it i mean no optic drive usually the light laptop is for work and most people who work NEED AN OPTIC DRIVE yeah can you say gaaaaay

  • chaosmutt:

    SHIT!!!! my
    my $200 laptop is better

  • 15XG:

    @vishaallalchand
…built in optical drives are a key aspect to me as well !! I mean come one…you already used up one of the three ports what’s next??
+ big downside is the fact that it costs $1300 , I mean come on…forget the slim whatever features it’s just not worth it…for that amount of money you can buy something a lot better !(not as slim and “stylish” =)) )

  • Racr4Lyfe:

Man, I love the looks, but the performance is shit compared to the Sony laptop I was gonna get.

  • drunktastic:

actually I very rarely use my optic. They are realizing that everything is going flash memory now for data transfer, except for program installs. 20 bucks for 8 Gigs of reusable flash mem, usb, the best dvd is 4 gigs, cdr is 800 mb. hell you can just go bluetooth too and not connect much at all. think about it…

the guy is wrong about the optical drive …its only one usb cable. That power cable is the laptop cable which u carry around anyway.
