i’ve ordered this laptop about july 21st and received it on july 28th.
when you first open the package you’ll see the laptop itself and another smaller box with the ac adapter/charger. My first thought of the laptop was ” wow its super light and looks very very nice “. its one of the nicest laptops i have seen so far. The outside of the laptop is’nt prone to fingerprints so thats a plus imo. the brush metal under the cover feels very nice also and again not prone to finger prints + .
The keyboard feels perfect. Its not too soft and not too hard. IT has just the right resistance and bounce. The right SHIFT key is’nt too small either. Very nice and comfy keyboard to type on.
Everyone likes to crap on the cpu. My system uses the core 2 solo SU2700 specced at 2mb L2 cache 1.3ghz 800fsb. Honestly its not all that bad if you’re just doing all the basic stuff ( internet browsing, instant messeging, microsoft office, youtubing, videos, etc..) its really not too slow at all.
My machine came with vista home premium and worked just fine. It wasnt annoyingly slow or anything like that. Although getting the opportunity to use Windows 7 final, i installed that and have been using it for a couple days now. Windows 7 works better/faster than Vista so i will be using it instead. i’d give this machine another thumbs up because of how well windows 7 works with the u350.
the only real con i would have about the u350 is the battery life. Mine came with the 4cell. They say it supposed to “last up to 5 hours”. It probably can last up to 5 hours with everything powered down and wifi off. In reality, this machine will get you about 2h and 20m – 2h and 45m with wifi on and screan setting to about 40-50% brightness.
other side thoughts:
-The touchpad is multitouch, which i found useful for enlarging websites or your desktop icons and such.
-Facial recognition was pretty cool. It was my first time using it and actually works well.
-The speakers are very well built. One of the best sounding speakers on a laptop i’ve ever heard.
-Portability is awesome. 1 inch thin and 3.5 pounds. Its definitely much lighter and much more portable than my textbooks.
-The battery does not get hot at all. Does not burn your skin like other laptops. I’d say it just gets warm even after 5 hours of use on AC power.
-The led backlight is more than enough. I use it on 40-60% lit.
what else.. if anyone wants to know more send me a pm or something.

Windows 7 upgardable????
Does it have a dvd drive thingy? because most thinand lightwieght laptops don’t, and i was just wondering.
No, you must go external. At less than 1 inch thick, it’s not happening on this model.
yes
if the u350 with dvd burner, will its product x series survive
It doesn’t come with intel core 2 duo, only pentimum
It actually does come with intel core 2 duo on the upper model, not the basic model, the basic model is pentimum
Warrock987: It does not have a dvd drive, though on the thinkpad series t400 has a dvd drive though you add $100ish more dollars but you also get a better processor.
So the upper level selling anywhere? I try to buy a lenovo u350, not pentimum , I want with CPU core 2 duo
I have a lenovo ideapad core 2 duo just got it yesterday. it is really cool
I got this not long ago. actually, I am using this computer right now. VERY BAD performance… don’t spend your money on it.
…..no disk drive…. damn…. the university are getting me a laptop to meet my needs ( im special lol) and they said its this one… but if it doesnt have a dvd drive… thats going to be a big issue…….. i have to use cd/dvds all the time at uni.
i thinking about geting this laptop is kwl lol
