Success and The Law of Attraction

A number of books have been written on the law of attraction. William Walker Atkinsons’ Thought Vibration or the law of attraction in the Thought World was one of the earliest writings on the law of attraction. The book focused on the relation between the law and the ‘new thought’ theories of the late part of the 19th and early 20th century. Atkins’ book showed the different ways in which a scientific approach and positive thinking can bring about radical changes in a persons life. The book is one of the best written works on the law, and, along with ‘think and grow rich’ by Napoleon Hill and ‘the science of setting rich’ by Wallace D Wattles is part of the framework behind The Secret, a film made on the law of attraction in 2006.

Success, in the light of the law of attraction means abundance. This abundance should not be mistaken as mere monetary gain or instant fame. Success here delves much deeper. The law aims to bring maximum happiness in relationship, career, finance or life in general. The philosophy teaches us to look at life from a different perspective. The law of attraction teaches the individual to probe into the inner self, to unravel the unconscious mind and realize the true purpose of living. It also helps one listen to the inner voice. This, according to followers of the theory does wonders to their life.

The law helps you to understand your true potential. It is because the philosophy separates you from external surroundings and develops concentration of the mind. Meditation and affirmation are two suggested means by which the law will bring success in life.

Success, according to the law also means the overcoming of negative influences in life through the power of thought. This is possible because if a person maintains a positive attitude and calmness of mind and does not give in to negative situations or thought, problems can be risen above. This happens because, positive thinking and adherence to the law of attraction creates a sense of preparedness in the individual, which imbibes the strength to confront challenging situations. This in turn results in fears being dealt with and the disappearance of negative thought.

Finally the law teaches that success is immaterial. It is an abstract concept. It comes through realization of ones end in life and fills a person with immense happiness once his mission is achieved. This happiness implies a sense of accomplishment, a sense of fulfillment and completeness.

Unleash Your Creative Thinking

People seem to have the misconception that only a select few are able to unleash a steady flow of creative genius. That is not true at all.

The fact is, creativity is very much like a muscle that needs to be exercised in order to consistently give out great results. If you don’t practice harnessing creative thinking, this skill will very much atrophy into inexistence. But keep working and this skill will soon come to you in a snap.

So how do you unleash your creative thinking? Well, the first thing is to become a human leech. No, we’re not talking about just sucking the blood out of every living being available, we’re saying that you should take in as much knowledge and learning you can find.

Read everything available — good and bad, and keep your mind open to the infinite possibilities of the universe. The more you know, the more you’ll want to know, and the more your faculty of wonder will be exercised. Prepare to be amazed at little facts that add a bit of color into your life.

Focus on a creative activity everyday. Yes, it’s an effort. Even doodling is a creative activity. Don’t let anything hinder you.

Mindlessness may be a creative activity, but for people who are just starting out to unleash a little bit of creative thinking in their lives, it is helpful and encouraging to have concrete evidence, that, “hey, what I’m doing is getting somewhere.” So why don’t you try it. Practice drawing for a couple of minutes each day. Bring out your old camera and start snapping photos like crazy. Keep a journal and make a point to write in it religiously.

Another cool idea is to write by describing something with your five senses. Try to avoid vague adjectives like “marvelous,” “amazing,” and “delicious.” Before you know it, you’ll have built yourself a tiny portfolio, and you’ll be amazed at the growth you’ve undertaken after amassing all those works of art.

Who knows, you might actually take to liking those things you do everyday. Pretty soon those things will become a part of you and you’ll be addicted to these creative exercises.

Think out of the box — or don’t. Sometimes, constraints are actually a good thing. Limitations discipline you to work within your means. It enables you to be more resourceful. Creative freedom is great, but limitations enforce discipline.

Try something new everyday and let your experiences broaden your perspective. Explore a new district in your neighborhood. Spend an afternoon in a museum to which you’ve never been before.

Chat up someone on the bus. Open up to the people around you. As you thrust yourself out of your comfort zone more and more each day, your sense of adventure grows and so does your zest for life. Think about it. When was the last time you did something for the first time?

If it’s been a while, I tell you, you’ve been missing out on a whole lot of experiences that could’ve added to your growth, emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually. Why don’t you try bungee jumping today? Not only will you learn, but you will also have plenty of stories to share, enabling you to practice your storytelling skills and making you the life of the party.

Embrace insanity. No, not to the point of practically admitting yourself into the mental ward. As John Russell once said, “Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting.”

Exactly! Every creative thought was once deemed insanity by other “normal” people at one time or another. Luckily, that didn’t stop the creative geniuses from standing by them. The thing is, sanity or being normal confines people to think… well, normally. Withink limits.

Creativity is essentially breaking through barriers. Yes, this includes the bizzarre and the downright strange. I’m not saying that you yourself should develop a creative personality. That might go haywire.

An example of a creative personality would be George Washington, who often rode into battle naked, or James Joyce, who wrote “Dubliners” with beetle juice for an intense fear of ink, or Albert Einstein, who thought his cat was a spy sent by his rival (or in thinking creatively in this case, the term could probably be “archnemesis.”) It’s important that your creativity doesn’t get you detached from the real world completely.

I hope this article has inspired you to start thinking beyond your “limits.” If you follow these steps pretty soon you’ll be living a life full of interesting adventures. Unleashing your creative thinking will bring about a new zest for living life.

Law of Attraction and How to Excellently Apply It

The law of attraction has been quoted as one of the most powerful laws for centuries. The law has been used by thousands of successful people. Many of them are self-made millionaire. In this article, we will talk about law of attraction and how to make use of it with the self-concept.

In Brian Tracy’s book, “Maximum Achievement”, gives a good overview of law of attraction. I hereby summarize the law as shown in the following:

The law of attraction says that each human being is a living magnet. It also says that we radiate thought, energy and that we invariably attract into our lives the people and circumstances that harmonize with our dominant thoughts. If we wish to attract different people, different circumstances and different events, we have to change the content of our conscious mind. We can dramatically improve the quality of our lives by taking control of our mind and manufacturing beliefs and expectation consistent with that we want to happen in the future. It can be said that what we think, we are.

A positive mental attitude is an absolutely indispensable prerequisite for success. The only factor that determine how well a person does or how far he goes is affected by his attitudes. Attitudes come from our expectations about outcome. If we expect things to turn out poorly, we have negative attitudes. Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations well in advance of the event. If we make a habit of always expecting the best out of everything we do, we have one of the keys to a successful life.

Where do our expectations come from? They come from our fundamental beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. Our beliefs are based on our self concept. Every one of us has a self-concept, which is the controlling factor in our performance. Our self-concept is a combination of all the ideas, thoughts and experiences that have happened to us over the course of our lives that come together to form a composite image of the person we believe ourselves to be. We always perform in a manner consistent with our self-concept.

The self-concept is made up of three fundamental ingredients. Understanding of the self-concept is a key to understanding and unlocking human performance.

1. The first element of the self-concept is what we call the self-ideal, or the ideal self. Every one of us has numerous pictures, feeling and thoughts of the ideal person we would most like to be. It’s usually a composite of all the people we have admired. We are continually adjusting our behaviors, actions and words to try to be more like the ideal person.

2. The second part of the self-concept is the self-image. It is the way we see and think about ourselves. It’s our inner mirror. We tend to walk, talk sit, act, think and relate to other people in a manner consistent with this self-image, or inner mirror. If we wish to change our external performance, we have to change this inner picture.

3. The third element of the self-concept is self-esteem. It is the root of self-concept and the core of human personality. Self-esteem is the most important element in human performance. The person with healthy self-esteem likes himself. People who genuinely like and accept themselves as valuable human beings perform at higher levels of effectiveness. Self-esteem can be caused by using the word “I like myself, I like myself.” repeatedly until it is driven deeply into your subconscious.

People who genuinely like themselves and accept themselves as valuable persons like and accept other people to the same degree. It is impossible to like or love anybody else more than we like or love ourselves.

The law of attraction can be useful if you know how to apply it. In this article,we talk about self-concept and how it is related to the application of the law of attraction.

The Law of Attraction: “The Hungry Don’t Get Fed”

Ever heard that saying? It’s as old as dirt, and I have long since forgotten who said it (anybody out there know? Please email me or leave a comment).

“The hungry don’t get fed” is an ancient principle that is based on the Law of Attraction. It’s another way of saying that a person who is desperate for something will NOT get it-but the person who already has plenty will get more. Or as I like to say, “the fat get fed, NOT the hungry.”

This principle explains why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If fact, it explains A LOT about the world we live in. Think about it; a single guy who is desperate for a date will have a very tough time getting one. He literally cannot “attract” a date because his desperation just pushes them away.

Likewise, which candidate is more likely to get a job: the one who appears calm and secure or the one who gives off a needy and desperate vibe? I think I know who I’d hire…

Anyway… it’s easy to see that desperation is not a state of mind that attracts success. So which state of mind will guarantee the Law of Attraction is working for you? It can be summed up in one word: “expectation.”

Expect More = Get More

Why is it so difficult for many people to just expect good things? I have personally coached people who knew exactly what they wanted but couldn’t bring themselves to say it-even to their own life coach! Maybe it’s because many of us have been “brainwashed” into believing that it’s better to go through life never expecting anything than to risk disappointment. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend living by that philosophy.

To get in the flow of life and attract better things to you, there is one simple deal-breaker: You must expect better things. Want to have a successful business? Expect it. Attract your perfect partner? Expect that the person is on the way.

Of course, what we are really talking about here is faith. Faith in yourself, in others and in the world in general. Faith is the state of positive expectation that allows good things to come to you, just as fear and desperation always repel your true desires.

The real “secret” to using the Law of Attraction is to not be “hungry” for your desires, simply expect and assume that they are on the way. Have faith and confidently assert your intentions and expectations, as if it were already a done-deal. Because when you’re in a state of positive expectation, they are.

Set your sites on the things you really want, then use the unstoppable power of faith and expectation to attract them!

How To Be Happy In Everything That Happens

Everybody wants to be happy. However, not many people can have long lasting happiness with little or no trouble. Most of us do feel happy some time and spend a lot of time complaining on what we do not like. This is where religions come up to answer. Human beings long for happiness and want to have a better life somehow. We are not going to talk so much into spiritual law here. But instead, we will discuss some simplified techniques to make you feel happier most of the time.

How to be happy is always mysterious in human mind. Do we need to have to have a certain thing happens in our life in order to be happy? Does everybody need the same condition? How are we going to cope with problems calmly and happily? How are we going to win this game called life?

First of all, we need to understand that life, although differs among people, has one law controlling everything that happens. This standard law is applicable to every individual regardless of his background, history or other factors. This law is the master of all other laws and is the cause of all the fact in this universe. The law is called the law of cause and effect. The following are the series of what you have to understand and do in order to lead a happier life.

1. Law of cause and effect indicates that all things have their own cause and source. All effects in the world are originated by some cause. Everything has the reason of its existence. There is no such thing as accident. Everything is controlled by the law of cause and effect. The good news is this law is neutral to all. If we do the exact same thing as other successful people do, we will get the exact same result under the same condition. Once we understand this, we will understand that what we get is from our deed whenever it was in the past. We should not be so annoyed when we get a negative result since we are the one who are responsible for it somehow. To be happier, we need to accept the law of cause and effect and believe that we can change the effect by change the cause.

2. We need to separate the real event of what happens and what it means to us. We can give two different meanings to the exact same event. This is up to us whether we want it to be good or bad or neutral. Once we give the meaning, we will put our feeling into it. This is therefore the secret of happiness. We can feel happy in a certain event if we choose to. For example, death of the love one is the tragedy for most of the society. People normally remorse and be sad for the event. In some society, however, death is a blissful event. They treat it like graduation in life. Morning is not acceptable when death depart their love ones’ life. In stead, people celebrate when death come to their family.

3. See thing as it is. Understand the way the world goes. Do not try to make it the way you want, because it will disappoint you. What happens is not set up to be against you. Neither it is to support you. Everything is neutral. If there is a cause, here comes an effect. They are just there. Separate what happens and what it means to you. Practice until it is your habit. You will be happier if you can do it.

Happiness is not difficult to find. It is around in your inner mind waiting to be called out and be utilized. Once you understand the cause of happiness, we can lead a happier life by just simply apply it.

More About Creative Thinking

How many times have you caught yourself saying that there could be no other solution to a problem ;and that that problem leads to a dead end? How many times have you felt stumped knowing that the problem laying before you is one you cannot solve. No leads. No options. No solutions.

Did it feel like you had exhausted all possible options and yet are still before the mountain ;large, unconquerable, and impregnable? When encountering such enormous problems, you may feel like you’re hammering against a steel mountain. The pressure of having to solve such a problem may be overwhelming.

But rejoice! There might be some hope yet!

With some creative problem-solving techniques you may be able to look at your problem in a different light. And that light might just be the end of the tunnel that leads to possible solutions.

First of all, in the light of creative problem-solving, you must be open-minded to the fact that there may be more than just one solution to the problem. And, you must be open to the fact that there may be solutions to problems you thought were unsolvable.

Now, with this optimistic mindset, we can try to be a little bit more creative in solving our problems.

Number one; maybe the reason we cannot solve our problems is that we have not really taken a hard look at what the problem is. Here, trying to understanding the problem and having a concrete understanding of its workings is integral solving the problem. If you know how it works, what the problem is, then you have a better foundation towards solving the problem.

Not trying to make the simple statement of what problem is. Try to identify the participating entities and what their relationships with one another are. Take note of the things you stand to gain any stand to lose from the current problem. Now you have a simple statement of what the problem is.

Number two; try to take note of all of the constraints and assumptions you have the words of problem. Sometimes it is these assumptions that obstruct our view of possible solutions. You have to identify which assumptions are valid, in which assumptions need to be addressed.

Number three; try to solve the problem by parts. Solve it going from general view towards the more detailed parts of the problem. This is called the top-down approach. Write down the question, and then come up with a one-sentence solution to that from them. The solution should be a general statement of what will solve the problem. From here you can develop the solution further, and increase its complexity little by little.

Number four; although it helps to have critical thinking aboard as you solve a problem, you must also keep a creative, analytical voice at the back of your head. When someone comes up with a prospective solution, tried to think how you could make that solution work. Try to be creative. At the same time, look for chinks in the armor of that solution.

Number five; it pays to remember that there may be more than just one solution being developed at one time. Try to keep track of all the solutions and their developments. Remember, there may be more than just one solution to the problem.

Number six; remember that old adage,” two heads are better than one.” That one is truer than it sounds. Always be open to new ideas. You can only benefit from listening to all the ideas each person has. This is especially true when the person you’re talking to has had experience solving problems similar to yours.

You don’t have to be a gung-ho, solo hero to solve the problem. If you can organize collective thought on the subject, it would be much better.

Number seven; be patient. As long as you persevere, there is always a chance that a solution will present itself. Remember that no one was able to create an invention the first time around.

Creative thinking exercises can also help you in your quest be a more creative problems solver.

Here is one example.

Take a piece of paper and write any word that comes to mind at the center. Now look at that word then write the first two words that come to your mind. This can go on until you can build a tree of related words. This helps you build analogical skills, and fortify your creative processes.

So, next time you see a problem you think you can not solve, think again. The solution might just be staring you right in the face. All it takes is just a little creative thinking, some planning, and a whole lot of work.

Life is About Choices and the Decisions We Make

Life is like a road. There are long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; crooked and straight paths. In our life many roads would come our way as we journey through life. There are roads that lead to a life of single blessedness, marriage, and religious vocation. There are also roads that lead to fame and fortune on one hand, or isolation and poverty on the other. There are roads to happiness as there are roads to sadness, roads towards victory and jubilation, and roads leading to defeat and disappointment.

Just like any road, there are corners, detours, and crossroads in life. Perhaps the most perplexing road that you would encounter is a crossroad. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where they would go, which road will you take? What is the guarantee that we would choose the right one along the way? Would you take any road, or just stay where you are: in front of a crossroad?

There are no guarantees.

You do not really know where a road will lead you until you take it. There are no guarantees. This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that it would be returned. Gaining fame and fortune does not guarantee happiness. Accepting a good word from an influential superior to cut your trip short up the career ladder is not always bad, especially if you are highly qualified and competent. There are too many possible outcomes, which your really cannot control. The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and react to different situations.

Wrong decisions are always at hindsight.

Had you known that you were making a wrong decision, would you have gone along with it? Perhaps not, why would you choose a certain path when you know it would get you lost? Why make a certain decision if you knew from the very beginning that it is not the right one. It is only after you have made a decision and reflected on it that you realize its soundness. If the consequences or outcomes are good for you, then you have decided correctly. Otherwise, your decision was wrong.

Take the risk: decide.

Since life offers no guarantee and you would never know that your decision would be wrong until you have made it, then you might as well take the risk and decide. It is definitely better than keeping yourself in limbo. Although it is true that one wrong turn could get you lost, it could also be that such a turn could be an opportunity for an adventure, moreover open more roads. It is all a matter of perspective. You have the choice between being a lost traveller or an accidental tourist of life. But take caution that you do not make decisions haphazardly. Taking risks is not about being careless and stupid. Here are some pointers that could help you choose the best option in the face of life’s crossroads:
- Get as many information as you can about your situation.

You cannot find the confidence to decide when you know so little about what you are faced with. Just like any news reporter, ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who are the people involved? When did this happen? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the possible questions to ask to know more about your situation. This is important. Oftentimes, the reason for indecision is the lack of information about a situation.

- Identify and create options.

What options do the situation give you? Sometimes the options are few, but sometimes they are numerous. But what do you do when you think that the situation offers no options? This is the time that you create your own. Make your creative mind work. From the most simplistic to the most complicated, entertain all ideas. Do not shoot anything down when an idea comes to your head. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the right one in the end. You can ask a friend to help you identify options and even make more options if you encounter some difficulty, but make sure that you make the decision yourself in the end.

- Weigh the pros and cons of every option.

Assess each option by looking at the advantages and disadvantages it offers you. In this way, you get more insights about the consequences of such an option.

- Trust yourself and make that decision.

Now that you have assessed your options, it is now time to trust yourself. Remember that there are no guarantees and wrong decisions are always at hindsight. So choose, decide, believe that you are choosing the best option at this point in time.

Now that you have made a decision, be ready to face its consequences: good and bad. It may take you to a place of promise or to a land of problems. But the important thing is that you have chosen to live your life instead of remaining a bystander or a passive audience to your own life. Whether it is the right decision or not, only time can tell. But do not regret it whatever the outcome. Instead, learn from it and remember that you always have the chance to make better decisions in the future.
