Goal Setting and Why People Fail To Have Goal

Goal is important for all successes in the world. We need goal to guide our direction. Like a destination in the map, goal let us know where we want to go and how to get there. There are evidences that people who have written goals vastly achieve more than the ones who don’t. Success is goal. The rest are just added to give the explicit definition. Every successful people understand about goal. They know what they want and determine everyday to achieve it.

Your ability in goal setting is a major skill for success. The goal will ignite your positive thinking and release the idea including power for the achievement. Without goal, you will flow in the tide of life. Your life will be directed by the environment and others. But with goal, your life will be like an arrow heads toward the target without deviation.

The fact is you have more than enough of natural born abilities. These abilities can provide you the chance of success more than you can imagine. What you are having now is just a tiny part of what you can really achieve. It’s not important where you come from. The most important part is where you are going. And the place you are going is determined within your mind. Clear goal will increase self confidence for you. It will increase your capability and efficiency. It also can increase your inspiration.

If goal is that important, we may want to know why so few people have goal. There are four reasons that people don’t have goal. The reasons include:

1. They don’t see the importance of goal.
The very first reason is that people do not realize the importance of goal. If you grow in the family that don’t have goal or if you socialize with the group of people who never talk about goal or never see the value of goal. It is very easy that you grow up and be adult and not knowing about your ability to set goal and achieve it. This ability will have more impact on you more than anything else.

2. They don’t know how to set goal.
Another reason that people don’t have goal is that they do not know how to set it in the first place. The worse part of it is that they think they already have goal but instead they just have dream or wish. For example, many people think that we want to be happy or want a lot of money or want a good family. These are not goals but only fantasy for them. Goal is different from desire. It has to be clearly written and specific. You can explain to others and they understand what it exactly is. You can measure it and know if you have achieved it.

3. They fear of failure.
Failure hurts. It can cost you both mentally and financially. When we fail, we automatically feel the pain and tell ourselves to be more careful next times. When we have series of failures, we start to grow fear over it. When you have fear, you unconsciously avoid doing whatever that may result in failing.

4. They fear of rejection.
If you are in the group of people who don’t know about goal setting and do not believe in the power of the goal, the chance that you will get rejected or mocked at is there. Therefore many experts teach us that we only share our goal with the one who already have goal of his own and can encourage you to pursue what you want. You can let other see the result when you achieve your goal.

You can use visualization to make your goal achievement possible. Visualization is to see yourself achieve your goal within your inner mind. See it and feel it as it is happening in front of you. Visualization will attract what you want into your life according to the law of attraction. You can add attraction audio into your visualization process. There are many in the market. Attraction Accelerator can be one of your choices.

Goal setting is very crucial to your success. Despite the importance of it, only a handful people have real goal. This article talk about how important the goal is and why people don’t have it.

Designing A Creative Life One Step At A Time

The creative life is somewhat of a paradox. That is, if you define a creative life as a life that produces ample amounts of recognized creative output during its decades of existence. In order to produce plenty of creative output over the sustained period of a lifetime, a large helping of discipline is involved. That and some extremely robust routines.

Here we encounter the paradox, because discipline and routine are not popularly associated with the concept of creativity. They would seem to cut across the very nature of inspiration and imagination. Ideas of a creative life tend to be linked, rather, with the spontaneous freedom of a bohemian existence. And yet those who achieve a level of mastery and artistry in their creative field have, almost without exception, done so through many years of sustained and disciplined effort.

So when you begin to think about designing a creative life for yourself, the grand scale of it can be exciting but often rather daunting. I mean, if you’ve got a whole glorious life to plan and create, where and how on earth do you start? Will you be able to withstand the degree of sustained discipline and effort required of you? Will you get blocked?

Julia Cameron writes in The Artist’s Way: “Blocked creatives like to think they are looking at changing their whole life in one fell swoop. This form of grandiosity is often its own undoing… Fantasizing about pursuing our art full-time, we fail to pursue it part-time - or at all.”

Any grand plan, any change of habit always involves taking one step at a time. So while it’s important to know the color and flavor of your very own big picture, it’s actually just the backdrop for the actions you’re going to take today, tomorrow and the day after. Be very careful not to let the sheer scale of your ambitions for the future prevent you from taking the first small steps toward your dreams today.

Taking one step at a time means that you hold the big picture in your imagination as the vision you’re moving towards. You need a big picture to make sure that the steps you take on a daily basis are moving you in the right direction. But at the same time you need to be aiming for smaller, short-term, tangible goals consistently. As time passes and you work your way through a series of shorter-term goals, you’ll be able to look back and see each small achievement as one in a series of stepping stones, leading you with a hop, skip and a jump to your bigger dream goals.

Julia Cameron, again, advises: “Take one small daily action instead of indulging in the big questions. When we allow ourselves to wallow in the big questions, we fail to find the small answers.”

If you’re brimming with creative ideas but struggling to develop them into tangible output, the practical support of a coach can make all the difference.

Why Striving for Comfort is Not a Worthy Goal

Often when you ask someone what they want from life they will reply:

“I just want to be comfortable.”

Well, I can almost guarantee that anyone who says this is struggling in life and frustrated with their results. Someone who says they just want to be comfortable often feels that they don’t deserve great success and that success is elusive. And they can prove it, for that is exactly what their life has demonstrated to date.

The sad thing is that some of these individuals have given up altogether on their greatness, while others may still have big dreams but think they do not have the power to realise their dreams so they too give up.

“You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true.”
Richard Bach

These individuals do not believe in the premise that you create your reality and that the first step in the creation process is in believing you can achieve what you desire.

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe.”
Anatole France

When you believe, the Universe starts to shift in such a way as to make the seemingly impossible possible. Adidas currently has an advertising campaign “Impossible is Nothing”. You only have to read the stories behind the myriad of athletes featured in this campaign to recognise the power of self-belief.

In order to accomplish great things, you have to step outside your comfort zone. To accomplish greatness generally means that you are striving for something you have not achieved before. So being comfortable is a myth.

People often want to have all the resources in place before they embark on their big dreams. Those who follow this path rarely succeed. You have to be ready and willing to start wherever you are with whatever you have and this can often mean that you start with nothing.

“I now realize there are millions of self-made millionaires who started with nothing. They dug inside themselves to find the answers and they succeeded. There is nothing anyone else can do that I can’t do.”
Dean Graziosi, Author of Totally Fulfilled

Even people who state their goal in life is to be comfortable often have a strong desire to do good in the world and help their fellow man. The difficulty with this is that the amount of good you are able to bestow is then generally confined to your physical presence and little above this. However, if you are wealthy, you are able to achieve and give so much more. Many prominent and wealthy individuals are great philanthropists, just look at Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

There is nothing virtuous about just being comfortable. Bob Proctor in his Science of Getting Rich seminar asks why make do with a little when you can use a lot? The effort it takes to be comfortable is just as much, if not more so, than the effort required to become rich. Why tread water when you can swim? So make becoming rich your goal and you just might end up being comfortable.

The Worst Mistakes You Can Make When You Do Not Program Your Mind To Set Goals

Your mind is the single most effective and essential tool to craft and program your thoughts, aspirations and goals. Consequently, when your goals are properly planned out, it will be very much easier to shape and design the life you want and ultimately the success you strive to attain. Yet, many people still do not even use their minds to set goals, let along take effective actions to achieve their goals.

I am highlighting the mistakes of not programming your mind to set goals because your mind triggers and identifies better when you are alerted to the detrimental effects of not doing something useful and essential. For example, when a student knows that she will not score well or fail in her examination if she does not study, she will work towards studying hard and smart to ace her examinations so as to avoid failure.

The same concept applies here: when your mind is exposed to the negative effects of not setting goals, you will be alerted to the importance of setting goals. Therefore, it is very important to know the worst mistakes you will make if you choose to ignore the significance of programming your brain to set goals and why these mistakes can be very costly to your quest for wealth and success.

When you do not set goals, you are clearly not identifying the purpose or reasons why you do certain tasks or things. You will probably just do those things for the sake of getting the job done and not take pride and enjoyment in doing them. You will have no sense of fulfilment and everything you do will seem like a hectic chore or burden.

This will in turn blur your mental vision and cause you to have no proper direction to steer towards your path to success. You will not know exactly where you intend to head, which proper ways you should take to reach there or how you can remain in the proper path.

Having no purpose or no proper direction is just the start of the horrendous journey to failure when you do not set goals. When you have no purpose or proper direction, this will lead your mind to be unfocused. An unfocused mind will move in too many directions, cause you to do too many things without actually completing all of them and steer you away from your intended purpose. You will then end up choosing and taking the hardest paths and performing the most ineffective actions that will in turn churn out the most undesirable results.

However, in my opinion, the most detrimental effect of not setting goals would be that it leads to procrastination. As you probably know, procrastination is the act of putting off the things that you should be doing to a later time or date. More often than not, you will end up not doing the things that you put off for too long. And not setting targeted goals to achieve on targeted dates will only increase your rate of procrastination and in turn lead you to failure.

Now that you have realised the negative effects of not programming your mind to set goals, how will you program your mind to craft a proper and effective goal-setting plan to achieve the success you want?

The 3 Most Important Questions You Can Ask Yourself To Change Your Life Starting Right Now

You’re reading this for a purpose. You want something. You need something. You want to become something. You want to have something. You want to do something.

Two words only - You Want.

Human beings; You and I, are goal-seeking machines. Well, maybe ‘machines’ is too crude a word to use. Our brains are goal-seeking mechanisms.

Now let’s think about this thing called “You Want”-ism. Let’s say you want to be a more confident speaker.

What (effective) questions can you ask yourself that will lead you to the right thinking that in turn will lead you to the right decisions and the right actions, and lastly to your desired goal (becoming a more confident speaker)?

3 questions, actually.

“3 Questions To Rule Them All,” I’d say.

These 3 questions are the most important, and they are like templates for ANY goal or outcome you want to achieve.

The 3 Questions are “Why must I”, “How can I” and “What if I”.

So you ask yourself these questions:

“Why must I become a more confident speaker?”

“How can I become a more confident speaker?”

“What if I am a more confident speaker?”

Can you see the pattern? Do you get the picture?

Let’s take a magnifying glass and see why these 3 are the most important questions you can ask yourself.

First one, the “Why must I”. Why is such a powerful question, in fact, the most powerful question, because it is the arrow that points you to your purpose.

When you have a powerful enough purpose, a highly motivating reason, a great cause, it will supply you with enough drive, energy, resilience, perseverance, whatsoever to almost literally push (if not shove) you to go out there and achieve your goal.

A great purpose, reason or cause (terms used interchangeably) is like the battery for your goal-seeking machine. If you have a powerful and long-lasting battery (Duracell, Energizer), your actions will reflect that amount of energy and in turn trigger the potent forces that will attain you your goal.

Next, the “How can I”.

For the mean-time, you may not really know how you’re going to go about doing the actions needed to reach your outcome. Don’t worry. You will find a way, if you got your first question, the “Why must I”, right. And I’m not going to go into detail about how your unconscious will suddenly give you the answer you need.

The “How can I” is like the keywords you type into the Google search engine that is in your head. Unlike Google which takes a few seconds to display results (and even some that are irrelevant), your mental search engine may take anywhere from a split second to a few months (even years) to find the answers. Hey, I never said it was easy!

And once found, the answer to your “How can I” question is like a computer program, an algorithm, a specific set of actions to take, that will lead you to your desire. It shows you the way, it enlightens the path that you must take to get to your destination.

So your goal-seeking machine now has an in-built processor. First, it has a battery, the “Why can I”. Second, it has a computer program, the “How can I”.

Next, we have the “What if I”.

The “What if I” question sends a command to your brain to generate a mental picture of your end goal. This is more effective than simply a visualisation as it draws upon the sharp focusing quality of questions to extract focused, detailed answers.

As you ask yourself the “What if I” question, you are telling your mind to come up with perceptions of possibilities, details, outcomes and results, in terms of your five or six senses.

It gives you an idea of -

What you will see when you have this goal.
What you will hear when you have this goal.
What you will feel, smell, taste etc. when you have this goal.

For your goal-seeking machine, the “What if I” is like a 3D multimedia model, or blueprint, of your desired outcome. It needs to know what the final product will look like and be like. Only then can it go on and create it.

So you have a battery, the computer program algorithm and the blueprint. All you need to do now is to flick the button to switch it on. Now that switch is called action. Without it, everything else is useless.

Goal Setting Secrets of the Greatest Achievers

A 7th century Arabian genius once said, “Success is the result of foresight and resolution, foresight depends upon deep thinking and planning, and the most important factor of planning is to keep your secrets to yourself”. The name of this genius was Ali Ibn Abi Thalib, one of the most illustrious, noblest and brilliant leaders of the continent-sweeping Islamic civilisation that was left behind by the Prophet Muhammad.

However, it is not the object of this article to discuss a religious figure or the history of a civilisation. The quote provided above is to set the impetus for the rest of this article.

“Success is the result of foresight and resolution, foresight depends upon deep thinking and planning, and the most important factor of planning is to keep your secrets to yourself”.

It is impossible and illogical by definition and reality to achieve any measure of success without any thought, planning or goal setting put into it. Any attainment that is borne out of randomness and chance is not to be regarded a success at all, just as a momentous lottery winning should not be called an achievement.

The achievement of a goal, by definition, requires that there be an element of conscious planning and subsequent effort put into it, because a goal is a purpose that any person, entity or enterprise is working consciously towards. No matter how vague or clear the goal is, some degree of planning, implementation, tracking and refinement is definitely involved.

If you are to observe the life stories of achievers either in your lifetime or in history, you would realise that the truth about their success can be attributed to a number of very common, universal, timeless and unchanging factors - or principles.

These undying principles are universally applicable to almost every area or field of endeavour, from industry to academia, from the ivory towers of the corporate world to the warmth, comfort and safety of a nursery. Changes and challenges that are developing in the world neither add to nor subtract from the validity of these principles, they only serve to create permutations and evolutions in the application of them and not the essence.

Now, what are these principles exactly? Here I shall be listing a few of my findings -

1. The greatest achievers are driven by a huge, humongous, all-consuming Vision either for their lives or for the world. They view the world as a perfect playing field to manifest and make concrete their visionary ideas and are often driven by this vision, whether or not they are consciously aware of it from moment to moment.

2. They set targets and objectives that are in alignment with this grand vision of theirs. They also have the discipline to reject and ignore so-called opportunities, developments, innovations and temptations that are not in alignment with their great vision, often creating enemies because of this. Nevertheless, those who stayed faithful to these achievers and their vision prove themselves worthy as true friends and partners in bringing about their visions to reality.

3. They seek out the best possible methods to accomplish what they seek, never settling for mediocrity or lackadaisical efforts. To these achievers, the terms ‘laziness’ or ‘hard work’ are concepts foreign to them. What they are driven by is their vision and the goals they must achieve in order to meet that vision. Whatever it takes to accomplish those targets of theirs, they will accept, and although they are humans too and can feel exhaustion, they do not view the necessary work as something to dread, but something to live with, even enjoy.

4. The great achievers are constantly learning. They learn from their mistakes, from other people’s mistakes, from their observations of the necessary goal-attaining processes in which they are engrossed.

5. They do not stop at simply learning, they also put their learnings into action, dynamically and consistently refining their methods in real-time. Sometimes the growth and improvements they obtain from their gradual evolutions borne out of their learnings can be very minimal, sometimes they may achieve tremendous improvement, even breakthrough.

But in their minds, they do not discriminate between small improvements and big improvements, neither obsessing over making huge improvements nor being content with only small improvements. All sizes and manners of growth are welcomed by them.

If all the goal setting secrets of the greatest achievers could be condensed into a handful of principles, the 5 listed above would suffice. Every other discussion of planning, thinking, programming, intending, organising, managing or controlling are simply corollaries of the above 5 principles.

Online Fashion Magazines - Getting Started

Are you one of those people who love two things fashion and writing? Do you dream of becoming a fashion magazine editor but some how you think you will never get the opportunities to do this? Do you think what hope do I have to be employed by top magazines such as Elle or Vogue? You think if only they gave me the chance I know they will appreciate my talent.

It may seem impossible for you to enter a career as a fashion magazine editor, but the Internet is making this quite possible. The question is though how to do you go about getting your own fashion magazine going on the Internet?

Of course getting your fashion magazine going will not be easy. I am not saying that it is and would be foolish to give you the idea that all you have to do is sit at a computer and keep typing till you decide you want to go to bed. However with hard work, persistence and some tricks of Internet marketing you can pull yourself together with the talent you already have and make quite an achievement.

The first thing you need to be mindful of is that to start out with your fashion magazine does have to be glossy, full of photos and packed full of the latest information. Start humbly and build from there. Start with your available funds as small as that may be. You do not have to be rich to get a website up and running. You can do it on a shoe string simply by doing research and learning how to get your magazine online.

Secondly, decide what sort of format your magazine is going to take. To do this surf the net and see what other websites are doing. You will notice there are some really spectacular sites on the Internet. This may frighten you a little and lead you to ask how you are going to manage to get up to that level.

Here is a secret, you do not have to get to the superstar website appearance to be a leader in the field. Some of these spectacular looking websites are not really all that successful. They may have been able to make their site look great but in the process they have missed out on the principles of search engine optimisation. Something you should learn about as you put your magazine together. A simple looking website properly optimised will end up being the winner.

Thirdly, consider when you are going to get some of your material from. If you are interested in writing this should be no problem to you. Simply again search the Internet and you will find stacks of ideas and information. However note when you are searching for information on fashion you are not just looking for fashion per se, you are also looking for the best way to put your magazine together. Search for topics about key words, article writing and as already said search engine optimisation.

Here is a tip. Join affiliation networks and affiliate with other Internet marketers who are trying to sell their products online. Because these sites want to help you to sell or promote their products they provide a lot of pictures and ways in which you can obtain pictures to put your website or fashion magazine together. In time if your site really takes off you will be having a lot of other sites and offline retailers wanting to give you the pictures you want to make your magazine look good.

As you develop your fashion magazine and find that you are making some sales through affiliation marketing or using adsense on your site you will find that you have more available resources to do some special things with your magazine and by more sophisticated software to make your site spectacular. The important thing is that you get started on the learning curve and be persistent in what you do. To ensure that you do not become too stressed initially take the venture as a hobby. Meaning be less concerned about making your millions and just enjoy yourself as you learn.
