Thisvideo shows an Asus G73JH RoG gaming laptop running 1 of 2 races on Flatout Ultimate Carnage including replay. The settings are max. This is with the stock 9.12 catalyst drivers that come with the G73 and stock GPU clocks of 700×1000. FRAPS is running. I have intentions on uploading a video or two of a Demolition Derby as they are the best part of the game. No idea when I will get to it. i7 720QM ATI 5870m 8GB DDR3 1333 Intel x25m G2 Thanks for watching. Join us at the Notebook Review Forums. Q

Asus G73JH P1 PowerPlay ATI 5870m What is Does & Doesn’t Do

This video is Part 1 showing the Asus G73JH RoG gaming laptop with an ATi 5870m & the PowerPlay feature, what it does and doesn’t do. I don’t sleep well during the day and had a bit of insomnia, so I’m a little tired when making this 2 part video. I use text to make corrections in the video where I felt they needed to be made. A correction in this video that I didn’t get in text, is the 46.5C temp undoubtedly came from the downclock to 300MHz and not so much from the display just being off, but logic and experience dictated a little of my opinion that way since I have noticed the display coming back on with lower temps when using Fn+F7 before the Power Options/Turn Off the Display kicked in. Man, I don’t know how I’m going to stay awake at work tonight. PowerPlay is a dynamic clocking feature in your ATi Catalyst Control Center. The only two clock settings that the G73 PowerPlay currently supports are 700core/1000memory or 300core/1000memory. I believe these clocks are in the VGA BIOS, but I have not pulled a copy to verify that yet. If you have your core OC or UC (say using the AMD GPU Clock Tool), PowerPlay will not downclock regardless of setting or switching to battery use. Even if you change the memory clock, an OC or UC by AMD GPU Clock Tool overides PowerPlay and is permanent until you reboot or click the ‘Restore Default Clocks’ button. The PowerPlay does not dynamically adjust the GPU clocks according to the application you’re using. It adjusts between a 700×1000

Asus G73JH Portal Max Settings ATi 5870m i7 720QM 1080res

Normally I don’t care for puzzle games, I get enough of that with my job. Portal is special for two reasons: 1) It’s Good 2) It Was Free. I did a video in the early stages and point out FPS/Screen Tear/Vsync issues. The settings are max, but just DX9. This is with theLeaked 10.6 catalyst drivers that can be downloaded, please see first few 10.6 video descriptions. FRAPS counter is running. No external noises present, maybe birds. i7 720QM ATI 5870m 8GB DDR3 1333 Intel x25m G2 Sony BD5730S Writer Thanks for watching. Join us at the Notebook Review Forums. Q
